HEALTHY RECIPE | COUS COUS | ARE YOU DIETING? | LOSE WEIGHT
This 2016, let us all resolve to eat healthy
without our salubrious food being bland and tasteless. I have this amazing
recipe that you can cook in your kitchens in a jiffy. The Star of this Recipe
is ‘Cous Cous’
which is a wheat/ semolina based cereal. We are going to spruce it up by adding
some lovely colourful vegetables to it. So, here we go…
Ingredients
to be kept ready:

Onion
1
Bell Pepper (Preferably green)
3
garlic cloves
A
handful of coriander
2
green chillies
2
tomatoes
½ cup of cous cous
Mushrooms/
tofu- (Optional)
Now
firstly, add water to the cous cous and
heat
it on medium flame. Also, add a little bit of Olive Oil to the Cous Cous while boiling so that it doesn’t stick
to each other. Cook for about 5-6 mins.
In the meanwhile you can ready your cooking
pan and heat some Olive Oil on the stove. Add the Garlic and green chillies
followed by the onions and let it saute for
about 3 minutes.
Then
add the bell pepper and mix well. At
this moment just add 2 teaspoons of salt.
Mix
and leave it on medium flame for about 10
minutes.
Then add the tomatoes and after mixing it
leave it with the lid on for 10 minutes. This
will make the tomatoes a little soggy and will lend a natural puree to your
dish.
And
now it’s time for our Star to make it’s entry- Add the Cous Cous.
Then
mix it thoroughly. After everything is
mixed well, you can add some more flavour to the Cous Cous by adding some Oregano, Tabasco and
Chilli Sauce. I like my Cous Cous to
be a little spicy. You can make it tasty in your own way.
And
now you can finally add some coriander while plating it up. And you’re ready to
devour your healthy meal!
