QUESSO RISTORANTE & BAR | VEGGIE HEAVEN | ANDHERI | MUMBAI

Berry Blossom + Apple Cinnamon Martini

Spiced Maiden

Quesso Ristorante & Bar is situated at Oshiwara in Andheri (West). The restaurant, which opened in 2012, provides a gourmet continental experience in a residential cum industrial area. Most first time visitors to Quesso love to gawk at the French windows which allow bright sun rays to brighten up the place during the day and the city lights to bring about a feeling of living in a metro in the night. The place is speckled with nice dim lights and is done up very elegantly. Now, here's to all my vegetarian brethren- this place is pure vegetarian! Yet there are a plethora of items in the menu, you may have to walk by a few dozen times in case you're planning on trying out each and every thing!

Private Dining Area

Zucchini Roulade

Quesso stands out in this locality which is buzzing with new age restaurants. It is always humming with patrons be it a weekday or the weekend. It even has a Party/ Dining Hall for official dinners or private parties. The service staff is attentive and efficient and appear in a trice without hovering around too much. One very important thing is, they always wear a smile which is so important in this industry!

Panther

Tex Mex Vedges

Among the notable beverages at Quesso, are M Lange, Kiwi Margarita, Berry Blossom, Panther, Apple Cinnamon Martini and Sangria Pitchers. But my personal favourite was Spiced Maiden which was Guava based with Indian spices, lemon extract and sipped through some salt at the rim. If you're here with the kids, then the Oreo Treat has to be perfect for your little one with coffee blended oreo, vanilla ice cream, cherry topping, milk and whipped cream.

Cream of Brocolli

El Classico Nachoes

Now the folks at Quesso ensure that we eat with our eyes first! Their presentation gets you drooling and I will say that none of the dishes had sub standard presentation. They had also taken the risk to experiment with myriad flavours and they are indeed successful.

Spanakopita

Hummus with Pita Bread

We began our meal with a Mexican Tortilla Beans Soup and a Cream of Brocolli Soup. If you want something on the spicier side go for the former and if you want something richer go for the latter. We then began eating with some Classic Caesar's Salad and Watermelon and Feta Salad. The Veggies taste particularly good especially with a dab of seasoning.

The Greek Spanakopitas had a distinct taste, the Zucchini Roulade was unanimously appreciated, the Crispy Lotus Stem had an Oriental Twist to it, the Hummus with Pita was quite good and their Falafel Sandwich was also marvelous. Their Grilled Zucchini Brochette is great for all of you who love to hear that C-R-U-N-C-H in between your teeth. But if you're looking at something really loaded and basically a hearty prospect then you have to delve into their Nachos El Classico, Tex Mex Vedges and Rosemary Potatoes. The only thing which I found lacklustre was the Cheese Balls, however, they looked super duper indulgent.
Falafels

Sicilia Pizza

While most of the appetizers are akin to greasy but differently done up comfort food, the mains are characterized by large portions and robust flavors. The Sicilia Pizza was a thin crust pizza that included the customary exotic veggies with a generous sprinkle of cheese. The Khaw Suey is pedestrian with a fair-to-middling taste.  Now, the Mains that require a repeat order each time you visit Quesso are their Spanakorizo Rice and Enchiladas.

Now one just can't go to Quesso and give their delicious desserts a miss! The Chocolate Bomb is oozing with Chocolate and comes with a quenelle of vanilla ice cream. Each bite of the Chocolate Grande Nachos is a glorious fusion of flavours. After the Tiramisu, I couldn't have asked for a better ending to a delicious meal. However, it didn't really end there, the Blueberry Cheesecake is a delightful fruity confection while the Belgium Chocolate Surprise Ball is certain to produce whimpers of delight! But my favourite is the Tres Leches, this three layered cake exploded in your mouth with nuanced flavours and spirit.
